Moving Up: A Warm Welcome to Year 9 and Year 12

A new school year brings new opportunities, new challenges and, for our Year 9 and Year 12 students, an important next step in their Claremont journey.

Our annual Welcome BBQ brings students, parents, boarders and teachers together to mark the beginning of these key transition years.

For Year 9, the year represents the beginning of the journey towards GCSEs, with growing independence and new opportunities ahead. For Year 12, it marks the start of Sixth Form life, A Level study and an exciting period of preparation for whatever comes next. It is also an important opportunity for our new international students and boarders to meet and mingle with their day student counterparts, building friendships and a shared sense of belonging from the very beginning.

While it is just one occasion in a busy calendar of events at Claremont, the Welcome BBQ captures an important part of the Claremont Experience. School life extends far beyond the classroom, and shared experiences like these help create the sense of community, belonging and connection that supports students throughout their education.

There will be many milestones for our Year 9 and Year 12 students over the months and years ahead. The Welcome BBQ provides a fitting place to start – bringing the Claremont community together as our students take their next steps.
