Claremont Summer School 2025
At Claremont School every student is supported, valued and understood starting from our youngest learners in Pre-Reception and moving up to our most accomplished learners in Sixth Form. We make student welfare and safeguarding a priority - every student has a personal tutor and is supported by their Head of House or their Head of Phase, have access to two round-the-clock school nurses on campus and have a fair number of first aid trained school staff around to help with all wellbeing concerns.
Students benefit from boarding house leaders, a pastoral leadership team and form tutors who create an open line of communication that encourages collaboration and trust. Regular check-ins and mentoring sessions help address the unique needs of each child, whether they are adjusting to school life, facing academic pressures or dealing with personal challenges.
With students from various cultural and international backgrounds making up the community, there is a culture of respect and understanding. We celebrate diversity, have sensitivity training for our staff and students and have inclusive policies in place to ensure that every student feels at home.
For boarders, our international school in East Sussex extends the pastoral care provision to create a family-like atmosphere.
Boarding staff provide round-the-clock support, organising social activities and ensuring students maintain a healthy balance between study and leisure. Our strong pastoral care framework fosters independence while providing the security and guidance needed for young people to flourish.
With a continuous ‘all-through’ school experience, students lead fulfilling lives with long-term friendships, tailored attention and strong pastoral care from teachers who understand their needs.
Students are encouraged to reflect on their personal growth through regular recognition of their own efforts with Attitude to Learning programme.
At Claremont School in East Sussex, each child's uniqueness is recognised and our pastoral team provides support so they grow confident and become their best.
Children use all of their senses to gain skills and independence across the curriculum with specialist services adding tailored support where appropriate. From Pre-Reception upwards, attentive monitoring ensures the right support is readily available.
Every student have their needs supported and attended in class through our Quality First approach, which measures challenging work.
Teachers and Learning Support staff work together using multi-sensory methods to equip students with skills and strategies that aid their learning and independence across every subject.
Our experienced teachers work closely with every student to know when additional support is required. They engage specialist services for special education needs and work together to provide tailored sessions for individual support.
Beyond the classroom, students benefit from a wide range of academic, social and emotional support through activities and workshops.
Students who need a bit of extra support with subjects or skills are supported through a remedial help programme  that addresses gaps in knowledge and builds confidence through tailored instruction, one-on-one tutoring and collaborative learning sessions.
Students are helped along in their academic journey by the learning support team at Claremont, who provide structured support for academic and personal needs. They collaborate with teachers and specialist services to make sure students overcome challenges and grow confidence in their own abilities.
Claremont students stay healthy with freshly prepared, delicious meals crafted daily by The Pollen Partnership, an independently-owned catering company led by former Roux chef Simon Silvester. They enjoy exceptional culinary experiences that meet their dietary needs and restrictions.
I've always felt comfortable approaching my teachers at Claremont, where they provide incredible support, especially during A levels.
