Claremont Summer School 2025
Learners at Claremont Pre-Prep school are introduced to languages and communication, numbers and basic mathematics and are guided to understand their emotions and their surroundings in an exclusive facility for 5 - 7 year olds.
Children grow life skills, stay physically active, learn literacy, recognise numbers and understand the world through purposeful play and lively discussions.
Learners grow in our Early Years and Pre-Prep building with their own play areas and thoughtfully designed activity spaces for both indoor and outdoor learning.
Children enjoy our Forest and Beach School programmes and activities in the mud kitchen and vegetable gardens within a vast campus including expansive woodlands.
Children gain English fluency through storytelling, songs, activities and interactive plays designed to enhance vocabulary, listening and speaking abilities.
Our teachers partner up with parents to share updates, observations and improve learning experiences for our youngest learners.
Children enjoy clubs and activities related to music, dance, outdoor explorations and sports after regular hours. We provide extended care till 5.30pm to make it easier for busy parents.
Our admissions process is simple, personalised and has additional support for international families.
Students learn key skills early on, including throwing, catching, balance and coordination, so that by Year 3, they are eager to keep learning and later to compete.
All our students at Claremont nursery, in Year 1 and 2, take lessons and engage in activities together. Children progress according to their individual needs when learning in mixed-age groups rather than being confined to traditional year group expectations.
Building foundations
Learners build strong academic foundations in humanities, sciences, sports and creative art through games and playful activities along with the national curriculum subjects:
Discovering talents and interests
Children have the opportunity to go beyond the traditional curriculum and explore all kinds of learning from an early age:
Inspiring young minds
Learners are encouraged to develop reading habits and explore stories through books. They keep growing their reading skills with our libraries filled with exciting books that make them want to keep reading.
Exploring the outdoors
Children enjoy a wealth of outdoor learning opportunities, including Science in the Jubilee Garden, Art in the Peace Garden and reading sessions in the fields. Measuring discoveries in the woods puts a new spin on maths lessons while investigating our Ice House brings history alive.
The Forest School and the Beach School are children's favourites, with the chance to actively explore around and learn about the environment in an engaging way.
Communicating through art
In our independent school in East Sussex, children develop confidence and self-belief through Music and Drama lessons, finding joy in self-expression.
They access a wealth of performing arts courses already from an early age, taking a first taste of the beauty of artistic disciplines.
Children build foundations in communication, literacy, emotional and social skills during Pre-Prep years. They explore and understand the world around them in a multilingual environment guiding them forward. They learn together through play, lively guided discussions and interactive classes designed with our core learning pillars in mind.
Benefit from a welcoming and learning experience
Gain essential life skills to thrive inside and outside the classroom
Build language skills and confidence to thrive in an interconnected world
At Claremont Nursery, children see celebrated all their accomplishments, big and small, and build a happy, dynamic learning community.
They are well supported by a superb team of qualified practitioners, by our Nursery Management team and our Special Educational Needs Coordinator (SENCO).
Together, the full team works tirelessly to form a real bond with each child and provide constant communication with their family.
Our ‘Star of the Week’ awards allow us to recognise progress and share successes. The children take great pride in being nominated as ‘Playground Friend’ or receiving the weekly ‘Kindness Cup’ for thoughtful behaviour.
Children start to develop teamwork, empathy and independence working with age-appropriate materials and charities like Children in Need and Dom’s Food Mission and actively contributing to their community.
Through activities in the Forest School, Beach School and play-led classes, children learn how to act in the outside world, engage with nature and improve social skills.
Children in Pre-Prep also have the opportunity to grow their confidence and range of experiences on school trips in the local area. Whether it is visits to working farms or nearby castles, they enjoy an exciting calendar planned throughout the year.
Children improve their English language skills, becoming more proficient in expressing their ideas, feelings and impressions in spoken and written form.
Learners also start introductory classes in French as an additional language, absorbing essential language skills from an early age.
Admissions for Pre-Prep is open all year round at Claremont school. Our admissions team is here to guide you to help find the perfect start date for your child.
