A summer filled with learning and fun - students aged 11 to 17 from around the world join our International Summer School for lessons, skill-building and unforgettable experiences. 

From 6 July to 16 August, students get intensive English support, engage in STEM and creative workshops, have fun field trips and build friendships through group and outdoor activities.

Our International Summer School

Every moment is designed to inspire and engage whether in the classroom or on exciting excursions.

Active English method

At our international school in East Sussex, students are immersed in real-world situations through our innovative Active English approach, using language and communication skills to solve practical challenges. 

At each level, they work towards improving listening, speaking, problem-solving, creativity, leadership and teamwork skills.

Student led activities

During the onsite afternoon sessions, students can choose from a range of sporting, theatrical and outdoor activities that encourage communication.  

This is another opportunity to immerse them in English utilising specific vocabulary honing their speaking and listening skills whilst having fun.

Trips

Students experience cultural immersion through various day trips and excursions -

  • London- Boat trip and London Eye, sightseeing walk to Big Ben, Houses of Parliament and Buckingham Palace
  • Theme parks
  • Canterbury, Cathedral and historic town centre
  • Bodiam Castle, country walk and activities
  • Hastings Aquarium and Smuggler’s Adventure
  • Beach afternoon and BBQ
  • Battle Abbey historic town and grounds of the 1066 Battle of Hastings

Evening entertainment

Students work  in teams to score points and win the coveted Claremont Cup with various activities at-

Students celebrate the end of Summer School with a graduation party giving them a chance to share laughter and memories, leaving with lasting friendships.

Frequently Asked Questions

Apply to Claremont International Summer School by 30 May 2025, with a deposit of £750 is required at time of application. You'll have to pay the remaining fee 10 weeks before the start of the course. Each two-week course costs £2,995 excluding flights, travel insurance and airport transfers. 

All the meals are cooked on campus by our catering team. Please indicate on the Registration Form if your child has any particular dietary requirements or restrictions and our team will make sure their needs are met.

Students need some pocket money for trips to London and to spend in nearby towns and shops. They are to give the money for safekeeping to our residential team on arrival, and can then have access to it as and when they need it. 

A qualified nurse is available on-site for the duration of the course. You are required to fill in the Medical Form when registering for the course and can give required medication to our staff on arrival. They will make sure it is taken on time. All members of the Claremont Summer School team are trained in First Aid before the start of the courses. A member of our medical team will be in touch with you and discuss medications and needs before you arrive here. 

In case of emergencies, you will be contacted immediately. All campuses at the school are within a 15-minute drive of the Conquest Hospital, Hastings and help is always around.

All airport transfers are coordinated by the Summer School team. A team member will meet students at the airport and ensure that all travel to and from the summer school are smooth and safe.

  • Arrivals and departures - We encourage students to arrive and depart on a Sunday. If you need help with travel arrangements, our summer school team is happy to help.
  • Flights - If you're taking a flight, you'll have to book the tickets and inform the summer school office via email  details about flight numbers, flight times, airport and terminal so that we can see to the rest.
  • Train - When coming by train, your stop will be Battle Station, which is on the main line from London and is the closest to the boarding facilities. The journey to Claremont from central London takes about 75 mins.
  • Car - If you are dropping off your child directly at school, inform us of your time of arrival so that we can receive you. The address for drop-offs and pick-ups is Pyke House, Upper Lake, Battle, East Sussex, TN33 0AN.
