Clubs, sports and opportunities

Young minds need to be inspired and motivated also outside the classroom to become well-rounded individuals. Children develop their wider life skills including leadership, problem solving, communication and lateral thinking through our enrichment process opportunities.

At Claremont School in East Sussex, students have the opportunity to grow and explore, becoming confident, curious individuals.

International opportunities

Our students enjoy unparalleled global learning experiences through International School Partnership's programmes. They connect with peers worldwide, engage in international exchanges, and participate in unique initiatives like ISP Model United Nations and ISP Filmmakers. House System and Senior League

For our students the House system is the heart of our Claremont community, fostering a strong sense of belonging, with each house having its own unique identity.

Prep School

In Prep School students are divided into Athens, Corinth and Sparta Houses.

The number of Stars and Commendations for each House are added up and celebrated during Friday’s assembly. The students’ Heads of House charity events, the annual Spelling Bee, Swimming Gala and Sports Day are just some of the challenges that run throughout the year with the winning House announced during Claremont Day.

Senior School

Senior Houses are named after four Historic castles: Bodiam, Camber, Pevensey and Scotney.

Each house has a team of tutors and a Head of House who have pastoral responsibility for their peers. Students from all year groups work and socialise together during assemblies, competitions, charity events and dinners.

Claremont Senior League

Claremont League recognises, rewards and celebrates student and House endeavours in all their forms, both academic and pastoral, individual and community including outstanding attitudes to learning.

Students gain merits or commendations from excellent work in the class, showing initiative in co-curricular programmes and being a good citizen to a fellow student.

After school care

Families with children in Prep School can benefit from our after school care programme.

Children enjoy fun clubs from 3.30pm to 4.30pm, playing together and experimenting learning in action. After that, they can stay at school until 5.50pm with the Late Stay option.

All of our internal clubs and Late Stay are included within the school fees and Late Stay includes a sandwich supper.
