Claremont’s Futures programme proves its impact for the Class of 2024

Claremont’s Class of 2024 is heading out into the world with clarity and confidence—92% of students have secured a place at their first-choice university, apprenticeship or workplace.

This standout result reflects the strength of Claremont’s Futures programme, which combines one-to-one coaching, industry insight, and real-world preparation—giving every student a pathway that matches their ambitions.

A personalised plan for every student

Recognising that no two learners are the same, Claremont’s Futures team works closely with each student to explore their strengths, motivations and options. Whether aiming for a competitive Russell Group university, a top creative institute, a hands-on apprenticeship or direct entry to work, students are supported to make informed decisions and build a plan that fits.

From Year 12, students receive regular one-to-one guidance to ensure their applications stand out. Access to Unifrog, the world’s largest post-18 destinations platform, helps students stay up to date with courses, career pathways and global opportunities—so nothing is left to chance.

Exposure to industry and inspiration

Claremont regularly invites external speakers to spark ideas and expand horizons. From anti-doping genetics and high-speed rail engineering to sports technology and global finance, these sessions give students direct access to the real world of work—beyond what’s in the curriculum.

Past talks have included:

  • Genetics-based anti-doping technology

  • Engineering for Taiwan’s high-speed rail network

  • Tech innovation in elite sports

  • The global world of reinsurance and risk

Futures Week: off-timetable, on-purpose

The highlight of the sixth form journey is Futures Week—a full week dedicated to helping students focus on life beyond school.

They explore university and apprenticeship applications, international study, work experience, academic opportunities, and what it takes to make a successful transition. It’s practical, focused and personalised.

Students also gain core life skills:

  • Budget-friendly cooking and grocery planning

  • Car maintenance

  • Money management

  • First aid for students

Future-focused from Year 8 onwards

Planning doesn’t start in sixth form. Claremont’s career guidance programme begins in Year 8 and builds year by year—giving students the right exposure, coaching and encouragement to shape their own direction.

By following the Gatsby Benchmarks, Claremont ensures every student:

  • Meets real employers and industries

  • Understands a broad range of career options

  • Gets tailored coaching to define their strengths

  • Builds a practical, personalised plan

  • Gains support from teachers, families and carers

  • Sees ambition without stereotypes

  • Benefits from a careers programme built around equity and aspiration

Proven pathways, diverse destinations

Claremont students become their best. From Oxford and Manchester to PwC and Ravensbourne, their next steps reflect their individuality and ambition. Whether they choose A Levels, BTECs or blended pathways, they leave Claremont with the skills, experience and confidence to succeed.
