An 'Outstanding' start to your child's education

In March 2019, Claremont was judged to be ‘Outstanding’ by Ofsted in all categories for a third successive time, which serves as further evidence of our ongoing commitment to driving standards in teaching at learning and our focus on student outcomes.

New Early Years and Pre-Prep Building now open!

We are very excited about our new Early Years and Pre-Prep building which opened its doors for the first time in May 2021. With a ‘free flow’ layout and large airy classrooms with fantastic views across our school grounds, we have created a truly wonderful new learning environment for our 3-7 year olds and we can’t wait to show families around. The new building has enabled us to reconfigure rooms in our current Nursery building so that the very youngest children will have more room to stretch their legs, discover new areas of the house, and for many, the opportunity to finally have the much-loved mud kitchen all to themselves!

An exciting time to join Claremont

Claremont has been on an extraordinary journey over recent years, culminating in a new and exciting partnership with ISP and a third consecutive  ‘Outstanding’ rating from Ofsted in March 2019.  With the Prep School achieving the much-coveted Green Flag Award and BBC Reporter School status and with an exciting multi-phase site development in full swing in advance of Centenary celebrations in 2024, our school has lots to be proud of and plenty to look forward to.

Individualised learning

Our teachers are extremely knowledgeable about how young children learn, and by having the time and space to really understand what makes each child tick, they are able to individualise the learning and play to each child’s strengths, interests and motivations.

Transition to Prep School

An exciting curriculum filled with endless opportunities for ‘hands on’ learning further enhances a dynamic  ‘All Through School’ pupil experience in which we are able to deliver a continuity of educational ethos as well as a happy, seamless transition to the Prep school when the time comes.

Outdoor Learning

Children from 2 to 11 years old take part in our Forest School programme. At Claremont, we are blessed with over 100 acres of beautiful grounds and enchanted woodlands. In this magical place, every week Foundation Stage children play, learn and let their imaginations loose as they discover the world around them.

See Yourself at Claremont

There’s no better way to get a feel for Claremont’s unique and purposeful atmosphere than by visiting us in person.  We are very excited to be able to open our doors once again to registered parents of children from Nursery age to 7 years old.  It has been a long wait, but now that we are able to host parents on site, we are so happy to also be able to offer tours of our new Early Years and Pre-Prep building.

'Through School' Experience

From the Nursery all the way up to Sixth Form, we nurture a culture of mutual respect where every idea has value and possibilities and where pupils learn first hand, that hard work and perseverance lead to better outcomes. Many of our Prep School teachers have trained and worked in secondary education, so they are extremely knowledgeable about the challenges that lie ahead. By knowing each child so well and by working closely with the teaching and pastoral teams in the Prep School, children quickly adjust to new routines, and make swift progress in and outside the classroom.
