Today, we're thrilled to share some exciting news about Claremont School’s ambitious new investment in our sporting facilities. This marks a significant step forward in our long-term vision for the school, and it’s a project that has been in the works for over a year now, bolstered by the full support of the International Schools Partnership (ISP). Our commitment to enhancing the student experience is embodied in the creation of the new ‘Claremont Sports Park.’Here’s a closer look at what we have planned:1. 3G All-Weather Pitch: We’re introducing a full-sized floodlit 3G pitch at the Prep School site, designed to provide a year-round training and competition venue for our footballers. This state-of-the-art facility promises to be a game-changer for both Prep and Senior students. Preparations are already underway, and we aim to complete this project swiftly.2. Astro Resurfacing: The existing Astroturf pitch will undergo resurfacing to continue supporting a diverse array of sports, including hockey, netball, and tennis. This upgrade is crucial for maintaining the quality and versatility of our sporting activities.3. Sports Hall Renovation: We are also embarking on a comprehensive renovation of the Prep Sports Hall. The overhaul will include the refurbishment of changing rooms and public areas, along with resurfacing the sports hall itself. This will ensure it continues to support a wide range of sports activities effectively. These developments represent our most significant investment in infrastructure since the Senior School’s Performing Arts Centre was completed in 2019. At Claremont, we believe sports are integral to our students’ lives, whether they pursue specializations or simply enjoy participating. These enhancements are pivotal in nurturing a holistic educational experience, combining sporting excellence with outstanding academics. The new 3G pitch will not only elevate our football programme to new heights but also provide our Football Academy with exclusive access to advanced facilities, significantly reducing travel time for students. The upgrades to the Astro and Sports Hall are equally vital for supporting our broader sports curriculum at both Prep and Senior levels. Core sports like hockey, cricket, and netball will continue to thrive, while a refreshed Prep School curriculum will promote swimming, rugby, basketball, badminton, and other non-core sports.Claremont has always been a place where achievement is celebrated, regardless of where you start. This development underscores our dedication to the principles of ‘excellence’ and ‘opportunity,’ anchoring them firmly within our extracurricular offerings. It marks another important milestone in our journey following the recent curriculum updates at the Prep School.Ed Dickie, Principal
