On 30th April, Claremont School U13s were named winners of the Sussex Schools County Cup following a 3-0 win against a talented and resilient Seaford Head side.  Having conceded just three goals throughout the competition, Claremont found themselves 1-0 up at half time, before both teams returned for a gripping second half thriller that saw a re-energised Seaford narrowly miss goal several times.  As the match continued, the quality of this Claremont side shone through with a fantastic second goal coming from an impressive team move, expertly put away by Jaydon Fuller.  The third goal was a 25 yard ‘screamer’ scored by Indian international and Claremont Football Academy’s Rohan Sharma, sealing the victory at Sussex FA HQ.
Captained by Will de Wilde, this Claremont side has gone from strength to strength this season having secured their place in the National Final of the English Schools Football Association Cup due to be played on 22nd May at West Bromwich Albion’s home ground.   Five members of this remarkable team will also be representing South East Sussex district in the Final of the English Schools FA Boys’ U13 PlayStation Inter Association Trophy which will be played at Stoke City FC on 10th May.
