Claremont Preparatory School offers scholarships for children entering Year 3 in the following disciplines: Academic, Drama & Music, and Sport. All scholarships will be valid, up to and including, Year 13.
Academic Scholarships will be awarded to children who demonstrate an outstanding level of intellectual ability. Children will be required to achieve well above average scores in the assessment paper.
Sports Scholarships will be awarded based on a child's raw athletic potential, coachability, and aptitude for a range of sports, rather than just current high-level skills, as physical development rates vary greatly at this age.
Drama & Music Scholarships will be awarded to children who demonstrate not just current performance skill, but significant potential, creativity, and a genuine commitment to the theatrical and musical life of the school.
Please find our Year 3 scholarship information pack below, which has further details and registration information:

A scholarship is the recognition of academic, sporting, or artistic excellence, following assessment by Claremont School. Â
Scholars receive a reduction on school fees, opportunities to develop further in the areas that a scholarship is awarded, and, most importantly, tailored coaching and support in the respective areas of the award offered.
Scholarships tend to be awarded to a maximum of 15% of tuition fees.
Both give financial assistance but are completely separate in their assessment. Â
Scholarship awards are given to pupils who have demonstrated excellence and ability in their chosen scholarship area. Â
A bursary can be given in recognition of financial need and can be applied for on behalf of any pupil who is registered with the School, regardless of ability. A bursary can also supplement a scholarship award amount. Bursaries are means-tested, so parents are asked to complete a financial circumstances form which is then assessed by the Principal.Â
Being awarded a scholarship is an honour for a student that will stay with them for life. It also allows them to access special programmes in each discipline with specialist teaching, trips and opportunities available to scholars that are not available to others.
In order to apply for a Year 3, 7, Year 9 or Year 12 scholarship a non-refundable application fee of £50.00 is required. Â
If you wish to accept any offer that is made a £200 Registration Fee (non-refundable) and £550.00 deposit (refundable) will be required to secure a place for September 2026/26. Â
For international student deposits please contact the admissions team for details.
The decisions on the distribution of scholarships are made by the Scholarship Committee, made up of the Principal of Claremont, the Vice Principal of Claremont Prep School and the Director of Studies with advice taken from the leaders of the various areas where scholarships are offered. If there are not suitable candidates the school reserves the right not to award any given scholarship.
