Explore our Nursery

The very youngest members of the Claremont family are warmly welcomed into our delightful Nursery School at any time between the ages of 3 months and 4 years old.  We are open 50 weeks of the year from 8:00am until 6:00pm and offer very flexible attendance options to suit your individual family needs.  Below is a collection of recent films and related content to give you a ‘virtual flavour’ of what life is like at Claremont for our youngest children.  Click to explore …

A birdseye view of our wonderful site at St Leonards…and a sneaky peak of our new Pre-School and Pre-Prep building which will open its doors for the first time in February 2021.  Hurray!

Under the careful and watchful eye of Rachel Potter and her team, little children quickly settle into the Nursery and find out that every day is a whole new happy adventure…

Our Forest School is a truly magical place. It can sometimes get a bit muddy, but as every parent knows – busy little explorers on an important woodland mission are always going to get more than their hands dirty!

Our Nursery is always bustling with activity and no two days are ever the same… and that’s just the way we like it!

Community Support throughout Pandemic

Throughout the Coronavirus pandemic we have tried to help our community in whatever ways we can. We have kept our school open for key worker families, offered up our boarding house so that consultants from our local hospital could self isolate, utilised our minibus fleet to deliver urgent medical supplies to doctors surgeries across the county and inspired our children to create wonderful pieces of art for the NHS and write letters of support to residents of local care homes.  For all parents who register a place at our Nursery before January 31st 2021, there will also be no change in fees the following year.

Graduation Day

For the older children in our Nursery, a whole new adventure awaits in Miss Newton’s Reception class.   Although the children are already familiar with the Prep School surroundings having regularly ventured up to the ‘big house’ for Music Lessons and out into the woodlands for Forest School, the children have many opportunities to get to know their new classroom and teachers well in advance of their first day at ‘big school’ and we work closely with parents to ensure a smooth and happy transition.  Our new Pre-school and Prep-Prep building will make their transition even more seamless, bringing learning experiences for our older nursery all the way up to our Year 2 children under one roof, – so ‘moving up’ will feel more like ‘moving on’….

A New Chapter

We are very excited about our new Pre-School and Pre-Prep building.  The Nursery children will be the first to move in early in the new year and we can’t wait.  This will enable us to reconfigure rooms in our current Nursery building so that the very youngest children in our school will have more room to stretch their legs, discover new areas of the house, and for many, the opportunity to finally have the much loved mud kitchen all to themselves!
