Open 50 weeks of the year from 8:00am until 6:00pm, our Nursery provides various options. Children may attend on a ‘term-time’ only basis if preferred, and options of attending just mornings, afternoons or all day can be arranged. Homemade, balanced meals are cooked in our kitchen and we are happy to cater for special dietary requirements. We gladly offer places of 15 and 30 hours of free childcare during term time to 3 and 4 years old, who are granted to Early Years Education Entitlement (EYEE).
In the Nursery we take care of babies as young as 3 months. This can be particularly helpful for some of our working parents who knows that their baby is in very safe hands. Baby yoga is a popular activity in the Early Years. Yoga has many positive benefits to the health and wellbeing of babies, for example it helps them find their center of gravity. This means that “yoga babies” are often more advanced when it comes to crawling and walking.

The Early Years team work hard to create an atmosphere where children feel safe, happy and involved. Our teachers and staff know the children so well, not only is the pace and style of learning tailored to suit each individual, but teachers are able to quickly spot changes in behavior that might indicate a child needs some reassurance and support. Our School Nurse is always ready to take care of children if they feel a bit under the weather or take the occasional tumble.
At Claremont, we are blessed with over 100 acres of beautiful grounds and enchanted woodland and we use it the full. In this magical place, every week Foundation Stage children play, learn and let their imaginations loose as they discover the world around them.
We invite families to visit us at any time during the year, but we also hold a series of Open Mornings in the woods which we tailor to different age groups. We want to show parents the unique approach we have to outdoor learning and give young explorers the opportunity to enjoy our magical woodlands.
• Go on a Bear hunt
• Listen to great outdoor stories
• Discover where the fairies live
• Den building and much more!
An exciting new Nursery and Pre-Prep building opened its doors in 2021 providing a spacious and inspirational learning environment for pupils age 3-7 years. A new playground has recently been developed adjacent to the Forest School to give children further opportunities to experience the great outdoors.
Claremont offers a ‘through school’ experience from Nursery to Pre-Prep at Year 3, and from Prep to our Senior School and Sixth Form site at Bodiam from Year 9.
We are part of a global group of schools.
