UCAS

Most pleasingly, 83% of our students are going to their university of choice this year. The outcomes for students at Claremont are outstanding and reflect a school that continues to grow and develop at a rapid pace.  To think that this group of students have never faced public examinations and have had to deal with the disruption of a global pandemic! We are very proud of each and every one of them.

Students in the Sixth Form are given comprehensive guidance and coaching regarding their future beyond Claremont with most (approximately 95% each year) making university applications to UK institutions via the UCAS process.  The team of Sixth Form tutors are very experienced in guiding students through this process with excellent outcomes in abundance in recent years (in 2020, 75% of students secured a place at their first choice of university, and 80%, their first or second choice). The central part of creating a strong application is the engagement of students, parents, and teachers in the discussions about which courses and institutions are best aligned with the ambitions and interests of a student.  Students receive personalised coaching through each process along the way with events such as UCAS conventions and careers exploration using the Unifrog platform  helping to plan out a route beyond Sixth Form at Claremont.

In addition to the UK, we have been very successful at placing students in other corners of the world including USA, Spain, France, The Netherlands, Japan and China.  The most notable successes in recent years have been successful applications for students to Harvard, Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Wellesley College, Cambridge, and the London School of Economics.

Where relevant, we also support students taking entrance exams for various courses such as MAT (Mathematics Admission Test), SAT (Standard Aptitude test), ACT, LNAT, UKCAT  (for entry to a medical/dentistry degree), BMAT, and STEP exams.  Those wishing to apply to highly competitive institutions and courses requiring interviews also receive comprehensive support in their preparations for each part of their application, including interview techniques.
