Claremont School is a co-educational day and boarding school, set across two beautiful sites in East Sussex, England.

Through our Boys' and Girls' Football Academy, we offer an intensive football development programme capable of taking the most gifted footballers to the next level as well as opening doors to a range of roles in the game such as coaching, scouting, performance analysis and research to name a few.  We pride ourselves on offering a truly international programme and consistently have players from over 25 different nationalities studying and playing at any given time.

 

At Claremont School Football Academy, all students are fully enrolled in the school:
  • Football Junior Academy for children aged 8 - 13;
  • Football Senior Academy for children aged 14 - 18.

Football Academy Director Jim Colston has over 30 years of experience in the game and has helped develop players in the United Kingdom for such clubs as Crystal Palace, Arsenal, Chelsea and Brighton and Hove Albion. A number of his former players are currently plying their trade in European leagues and beyond. Jim’s team have amassed a wealth of coaching experience and together have the knowledge and connections to get the best out of every player.

Every match is recorded providing opportunities to analyse skills and performance so that coaches and players are always able to assess skills and abilities and understand what is needed to progress further. A full-time Strength and Conditioning coach ensures Academy students are in tip-top condition and ready for the increasing demands of training sessions and competitive matches.

Francoise Armstrong is Claremont’s Assistant Head and our Director of Boarding. For all Football Academy boarders, Mrs. Armstrong provides the link between the boarding house and school, providing advice, help and support for all students off the pitch, however big or small their needs.

Our boys teams achieve regular success. In recent years, our U13 and U14 teams have been crowned national champions, the U18 team became County Cup champions and more recently, our Year 11 team became SESSFA Regional champions.

BOARDING SCHOOL

Both of our boarding houses are located off campus, as we believe it is vital for students to have a break from school and training – close enough to get to school in under 15 minutes, but far away enough for it to feel like you’re really going “home” after a happy day “at work”.

Clyde House accommodates boys from Year 9 to Year 13. It is a spacious and airy building with a range of private rooms, en-suite facilities and a big garden. The house is within walking distance of local shops and a large supermarket – and is just three miles from the seaside.
