NEXT LEVEL COACHING

High-Profile Coaching team

Claremont Football Academy attracts talented and aspiring footballers from all over the world to study and train with our roster of professional coaches. Academy Director Jim Colston has over 25 years experience in the game, is a premiership scout and has helped develop players in the United Kingdom for such clubs as Crystal Palace, Arsenal, Chelsea and Brighton and Hove Albion and in Europe for FC Magdeburg and AC Milan. Jim’s team have amassed a wealth of county and premiership coaching experience and together have the knowledge and connections to get the best out of every player.

Fast Progression

With clear progression routes, opportunities to play alongside current Premier league academy players already at the School, and to compete against professional clubs at professional football club grounds, talented and aspiring players are not only recognised, but tested and pushed so that they quickly improve their game and skills.

On and Off the Pitch

Every match is recorded providing opportunities to analyse skills and performance so that coaches and players are always able to assess skills and abilities and understand what is needed to improve chances of progression in the game. A full-time Strength and Conditioning coach ensures Academy students are in tip-top condition and ready for the increasing demands of training sessions and competitive matches.

FOOTBALL AND ACADEMIC PROGRAMME

We know that to succeed in today’s professional game you will need to work hard, both on the pitch and in the classroom. Students follow a structured and rigorous programme of football coaching and academic study in a learning environment that commands respect, hard work, commitment and honesty

Personalised Learning Programme

Tailored study paths develop knowledge, skills and experiences that play to students’ strengths, interests and various learning styles. Each student receives individual support and has the opportunity to tailor their learning programme to suit their own particular characteristics and their Football Academy commitments. We want to help students not only realise their footballing dreams, but to also develop the skills needed to pass the A-level and GCSE exams and enter world’s top universities.

Linking ‘Home’ with School

Francoise Armstrong is Claremont’s Assistant Head and our Director of Boarding. For all Football Academy boarders, Ms.Armstrong provides the link between the boarding house and school, providing advice, help and support for all students off the pitch, however big or small their needs.

ACADEMY SUCCESS

The Academy has just celebrated another fantastic season recording many successes. Our school teams played a record number of fixtures scoring an amazing 280 goals whilst conceding just 60 all season which is an excellent return.

National Champions

The U14 Boys team are the current National Champions, after their phenomenal treble-winning success. This group of players has competed against the best in England, beating the current Elite Schools champions and have not conceded a goal from open play yet this season which is a phenomenal record into April.

Girls Academy Development

We were excited to welcome our first team of girls to the Academy programme in 2019. They competed in the ESFA National Cup and Sussex Schools trophy and reached the quarter-finals of both.

BOARDING

When students join the Football Academy they immediately become part of the Claremont boarding family and go on to forge what often become life-long friendships, across different cultures and age groups. Both of our boarding houses are located off campus, as we believe it is vital for the students to have a break from school. Close enough to get to school in under 15 minutes, but far away enough for it to feel like you’re really going “home” after a happy day “at work”.

Pyke House

Pyke House is our Girls and Junior Boarding House and is located in the heart of the historic village of Battle in East Sussex. It has great shops, a warm and welcoming community feel and is just a 5 minutes walk from the mainline station into London.

Clyde House

Clyde House accommodates boys from Year 9 to Year 13. It is a spacious and airy building with a range of private rooms, en-suite facilities and a lovely big garden. The house is within walking distance to local shops and a large supermarket, yet just 3 miles away from the seaside.

Weekend Activities

Our weekend activity programme gives students plenty of opportunities to socialise, immerse themselves in village life and experience a wide range of cultural trips and activities in a multicultural environment. Boarders have access to the extensive sporting facilities that our school provides.

OUTSTANDING FACILITIES

We believe that professional coaching in exceptional surroundings can be combined with a strong emphasis on academic excellence to give all of our Academy students the ability to reach for and achieve their dreams.
