Jim Colston

Football Academy Director

On successful completion of an academic assessment, those students that are interested in joining our Football Academy will be contacted by Jim to assess their footballing ability … academy@claremontschool.co.uk

When to join?

  • International students join Claremont from age 10 with many staying with us until the Sixth Form.
  • Traditional entry points are in Year 7, 8, 9 and 10 (for GCSE) and Year 12 (for A Level).
  • The ‘ Year 11 Access’ course is an exclusive 3- year academic study programme that prepares students for A levels and entry to universities.  It is designed specifically for international students who would benefit from a foundation year of study prior to Sixth Form,  as it has a greater emphasis on developing English language skills.

Entry is normally in September but students will be considered for January and April starts, subject to availability of spaces. If English is not their first language, students are expected to have a minimum level of English to cope with the demands of the curriculum.  Each international student’s English and maths knowledge is tested and copies of school reports must be shared with Lily Lam, Head of Admissions.
