The care and individual development of every pupil is of key importance at Claremont Senior School. Class sizes will never exceed 20 pupils and are more often less. The school is designed to allow every teacher to build effective working relationships with each pupil.
The school's Pastoral System centres around the role of the Tutor. Every pupil is assigned a personal Tutor with whom they meet on a weekly basis, to discuss progress and agree objectives for all areas of their school life. The relationship between a pupil and their Tutor is of great importance, as the Tutor provides a crucial point of contact for pupils to discuss academic, co-curricular and personal issues as the need arises. The Tutor also plays a vital role when pupils reach key stages of their education and need to make decisions with regard to GCSE choices, post-16 opportunities and beyond.
