School Life    

Life at Claremont is busy, happy and enjoyed by all! Children thrive in the family-focused environment, working hard, playing and relaxing at home in the evenings. There is neither boarding nor Saturday School, and the only weekend commitments are Speech Day, Sports Day and occasional trips to our study centre in northern France. The weekends are therefore free for families to enjoy being together.

Children may arrive at school from 8.00am and can stay until 6.00pm. Many enjoy the various clubs on offer. The school operates a comprehensive bus service to many villages in the local area. (See School Day for further details).

Children are encouraged to develop to their full potential and learn to become independent, confident, tolerant and caring individuals. The traditional values are held in high regard – hard work, fair play, courtesy, a sense of responsibility and respect for other people, property and the environment.

Discipline is firm but fair and there is regular communication between staff and parents, particularly if there is any reason for concern. Parents and pupils are also informed about academic progress with regular dialogue and written reports.
