Dahlicious Day at Claremont
Tuesday, October 04, 2011

On Friday 30th September at Claremont School pupils and staff arrived dressed as characters from stories by the famous British author, Roald Dahl. In addition to the better known ones like Charlie from the Chocolate Factory and James of Giant Peach fame, there was a wonderful selection of lesser known characters including ladybirds, fantastic foxes and enormous crocodiles.

Everyone who wore a costume donated one pound towards the Roald Dahl Marvellous Children’s Charity. This superb charity helps children with lifelong neurological and blood disorders.

This event was organised by Claremont Preparatory School’s new Deputy Head, Mrs Diane Durrant. She commented, “It is wonderful to see so many children entering into the spirit of Dahlicious Day and raising money for such a worthwhile cause. Their costumes are fantastic and our thanks must go to the many parents who helped prepare their children for this event.”
